**Reading Recommendation** Blogging Dangerously

When Husband and I made the decision to move to Oregon, it was quite possibly the scariest thing I've ever done. Scarier than committing my life to one man (he's hot, what can I say?). Scarier than working in an industry where people hate you. Scarier even than writing a blog. After all, I'd been in the same town eight years, the longest I've spent anywhere. I had a great full time job with benefits and a family of friends. However, after weighing the pros and cons, the decision seemed to make itself and here we are. The thing I had to keep reminding myself was to breathe. Sit back, take a deep breath and tell myself everything was going to be fine (and it is).

Now if I had read this post by Kit at Blogging Dangerously, I think I would've had a better handle on my survival. Kit's posts are usually anything but rated G and honestly, that's why I like them. She writes about all the things I wonder about but am way to prudish conservative to write about. This particular post, though, is a story that she tells her kids and uses as a reminder to herself. I recommend printing it off and keeping it on your fridge, so the next time you're close to having a melt down, you'll be reminded to BREATHE.

**Reading Recommendation** Renegade Mothering

The first rule of blogging: every one talks about blogging. In order to be successful (or at least dream about having a hope of being successful), you must network. In my extensive "networking" (I spend way more time reading than writing), I have come across some wonderful blogs, like My Little Miss Stubborn, and some not so great and shall remain nameless.

When in need of a little laughter (and when one is unemployed, laughter is a must), there is one blogger that I love and am convinced spends time in my head is Janelle at Renegade Mothering. If you like things rated G, please go read something else. Although, I highly recommend taking a moment to read her post about her husband, Mac. I really really really really really heart reading about true love and real men. You know what I'm talking about. The kind of love that sees you drowning in a puddle of drool on your pillow and still wants to play hide the kniche. The kind of man who drinks a pot of coffee and then goes off to work, but only after replacing the tiny hatchling back into the nest that it fell from. That's what Janelle's post is about (at least I think so, I think that's where she's going. That's my interpretation and I'm sticking to it!). And really? Who amongst us is so hard-hearted that we don't go awwwwwwwwww over a guy who pushes his baby daughter in a stroller? Oh you, really, well don't let the door hit you on the way out.

So if you're looking to restore your faith in men or just have a spare moment between kniche finding sessions, head on over to Renegade Mothering.

*Reading Recommendation* My Little Miss Stubborn

I really need to get off my overly large bum and find a job but before I go I wanted to share this with you.

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month. I became aware of this thru my religious reading of the blog My Little Miss Stubborn. Mommy Megan chronicles the adventures of the adorable (and irresistible) Eleanor Claire or Ellie. I'm not sure how I came across her blog, but I can't get enough of the information that Megan gives, as well as the pictures (the "I heart faces" posts are my all time favorites!). So, if you have a moment, pop on over to My Little Miss Stubborn, where they are participating in 31 for 21, which means a post related to DS every day for the month of October.
