Running won't ruin your knees but it will totally mess up your sense of fashion.
Take it all in. From the fleece pom pom on the hat to the layers of reflectivity, that's 5'3" of pure sexy right there. (Thanks to Husband for making my visibility possible in the foggy rain)
I thought running in the rain would make me feel hardcore. Instead, I felt like a cold soggy shrimp (and kind of looked like one by the time my feet hit my doorstep). On the plus side, I ran with the knowledge that there was no way attentive drivers would hit me, so if I was to be run over, I had a chance at some serious moolah.
However, I did feel that if I can venture out in cold rainy Oregon Coast winters, I might just have a shot of becoming a real runner. As long as I can follow it up with a shot of Patron.
Question: Do you like zombies and do you have an iPhone? There's this app on there called Zombies, Run! It's for runners, and it tracks your run, but builds in zombie missions and then send zombies after you (when you're supposed to sprint). I hear it's pretty fun, the husband has been using it.
ReplyDeleteI read about that app! I think I might use it once I have a few more runs under my belt. I don't really like to run with my phone but I think the app is too fun to pass up.
Deletelol that's amazing! good for you for being so motivated!
ReplyDeleteYeah motivation, that's what we'll call it.
DeleteOh! I'm going to need that app. Honestly, you look about a million times better than I do when I run C: I slather myself with a fat layer of moisturizer just before I head out the door.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for summer when I can break out the unblended sunscreen on my nose and cheeks.
DeleteI'm pretty much always mismatched when I run, too. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's all born out of my fear of being run over. I feel like if I get hit while looking like I raided Liberace's closet, my family has a better court case.
DeleteNow that's a stylin' outfit!
ReplyDeleteI can't start a run in the rain, but I don't mind running in the rain if it starts while I'm out there, weird I know. Love your blog, following you on GFC from SITS

Regardless of how you felt if I saw you on the street running in the rain I would totally think you were hardcore :) enjoy your SITS day!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Great outfit. If there is the slightest chance of rain when I'm running, I like to pretend I'm Rocky Balboa and start shadow boxing...you know because I'm hard core like that. Happy SITS Day!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from SITS...Love the post--I look like that a lot too! In fact, none of my running clothes match at all. But I have fun! I'm out there in most kinds of weather except ice. Can't run in shoes with those ice cleats on the bottom--that's where I draw the line :)! I applaud your effort in just getting out there--and you take care of keeping yourself safe, too.
ReplyDeleteLoving the outfit...lol! Seriously though, good for you getting out there in the rain. I struggle to find the motivation to run even when the weather is nice! ;)
ReplyDeleteI look at the reain as a good excuse not to exercise ;-) And I agree, there is no way any driver wouldn't be able to see you there. Happy SITS day!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Sexy and you know it! Love it, and hey, and least you ran!
ReplyDeleteNew Yorkers run in the rain all the time, because most of us don't own cars. Except we usually do it in business suits and uncomfortable shoes while cursing the rain.
ReplyDeleteWell I say good for you to get out there and run!! I live on the Pacific Coast too and brrrr it can be cold and rainy in the winter...causing me to say nope not gonna do it!
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS Day!
Okay so now you're making me look bad. I didn't run yesterday because there were clothes hanging on the treadmill.
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day! =)
A shout out from the PNW north of you just a bit. I did not exercise yesterday even though it was a Jillian Michael's day. It's not good to skip. Today for sure. Thanks for the inspiration. Enjoy your SITS Day.
ReplyDeleteMajor brownie points for running in the rain. I aspire to be a runner, but it seems like a lot of work. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day.
My daughter looks a little like that when she runs. I'm a walker myself. When I try to run it feels like my insides are falling out. Can't do it but sure do admire those of you that do! Fun post!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your SITS day!
None of my running clothes match either! LOL But I applaud you for going out in the rain. It is raining here today and I am headed to the elliptical instead.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! When it rains, I think "No running today!"
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day!
ReplyDeleteOh you are even MORE adorable looking like that!! Such a fun picture and GOOD FOR YOU for taking that cold wet run! I wouldn't dare... ;)
ReplyDeleteHa! Lol...at 34 weeks pregnant I kinda look like that every day now! This made me laugh so much! I LOVE your outfit....it totally works for Oregon and Oregon weather. So ROCK IT sistah! Happy SITS Day! =)
ReplyDeleteHaha, love this so much. Happy SITS day!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your outfit!! I walk and don't run. Getting ready to do it now....everyday, on my lunch hour!!
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS featured day!!
This is so funny!!! I don't look too slick in my weird outfit combos when I go the gym, either. Thank God there are only women there....
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day! Hope you are enjoying lots of comment love! :)
ReplyDeleteI used to go running in colorful ensembles like that one (and not just when it was raining)! Don't break your running schedule/routine - it can be very hard to get back into if you do....
ReplyDeleteHaHa!! Adorable!! Cute post. I ran in the rain yesterday. Soggy shrimp is right....I was even wearing pink! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS Day and lol at the cold soggy shrimp. I have never attempted to run in the rain but when I become a true runner, I'm sure rain won't stop me.

Lookin' good! I need to get some motivation to run in good weather!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one who looks ridiculous when running! :D
ReplyDeleteTHAT takes some commitment! Good for you ;) and happy SITS day.
ReplyDeleteThat takes a lot of motivation and commitment. I wish I had that! maybe I should get started! I don't know maybe I will start next week :) lol
